Cloning and characterization of P. vivax thioredoxin peroxidase-1

Just read the shortest article I have ever been allocated for journal club! Interesting paper. The authors have successfully cloned and expressed P. vivax thioredoxin peroxidase-1, and produced monoclonal antibodies against the recombinant protein in mice. They show that it assists parasite proliferation by maintaining redox homeostasis through the reduction of peroxides.
