So the news headlines had me, and I'm sure many others, in a state of excitement yesterday after news broke of a compound that has said to have eradicated all malaria infection during testing in animal models (with a single, low dose), and that is also thought to be capable of blocking transmission of the parasite from host to host. Not much detail has been provided, however the researchers are still testing the compound. SO for now we'll have to just keep our fingers crossed!
